I joined DoorDash Driver in August 2019. I worked on growth projects, led the Framer X prototyping effort on the design team, and brought more delight, love, and efficiency to new DoorDash drivers.

Instant Dash

Problems with a new dasher (driver):
1. It takes about 12 days from sign-up to their first delivery
2. 75% new dashers lost interest after sign-up and never delivered due to the long wait
3. The wait is caused by background clear, shipping Activation Kit, and scheduling a dash upon activation.

Role: Product Designer
Collaboration: PM (1), Front-end (2), Back-end(1), & Marketing (2)
Time: 4 weeks
Result: Increase 7-day new driver conversion by 35%
Tools: Framer (JavaScript), After Effects, Lottie
Red card/instruction material in Activatio Kit, from overwhelming to light-weight

Not-Busy Schedule

Dashers open the driver app to dash, but the current region is not busy. They didn't knnow what to do, so they churn off.

Role: Product Designer
Collaboration: PM (1), Front-end (2), & Back-end(1)
Time: 1 week
Result: Increase total number of deliveries by 9% (10 days with test group)
Tools: Framer (JavaScript), After Effects, Lottie

Referral Visibility

80% of referral dashers did not complete referral bonus requirements. As a result, they didn't recognize the value of DoorDash with a small amount of delivery, and did not stay with the platform for a long time.

Role: Product Designer
Collaboration: PM (1), Project Lead(1), Front-end (2), & Back-end(1)
Time: 3 weeks
Result: Experiment still running. Waiting for results
Tools: Framer (JavaScript), After Effects, Lottie

Next Gen DoorDash Driver App

Started with a design sprint to envision the next gen of the Driver app, I joined DoorDash to consolidate and polish the designn and then turn the concept into an interactive prototype.

Role: Prototyper & Product Designer
Collaboration: Product Designers (3, they created initial mockeups)
Time: 3 weeks
Result: Positive feedback from CEO and VP of Products
Tools: Framer (JavaScript), After Effects, Lottie
